The school curriculum is designed to ensure that all our pupils have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills across a wide range of subjects.

Our Curriculum for Excellence model includes a set of principles that we believe are essential to successful learning.

  • Challenge and enjoyment to engage pupils and encourage high aspirations
  • Breadth and balance so that pupils learn through a variety of contexts
  • Progression at a rate which addresses pupils’ needs and aptitudes
  • Personalisation and choice to support particular talents
  • A coherent learning experience which draws different strands of learning together
  • Relevant, purposeful activities connected to learning
