Our Curriculum for Excellence model includes a set of principles that we believe are essential to successful learning.
- Challenge and enjoyment to engage pupils and encourage high aspirations
- Breadth and balance so that pupils learn through a variety of contexts
- Progression at a rate which addresses pupils’ needs and aptitudes
- Personalisation and choice to support particular talents
- A coherent learning experience which draws different strands of learning together
- Relevant, purposeful activities connected to learning

The curriculum is designed to introduce pupils to the study of major areas of knowledge and experience and is complemented by regular homework assignments for pupils of all ages.
